These five Amazon UK listings are licensed veterinary medicines (or a licensed pack variant) selected for a clear cat formulation, not for star ratings or popularity.
Weigh your cat before choosing a pipette. Never use a dog flea product containing permethrin on a cat: dog spot-ons, shampoos, sprays and collars can be extremely poisonous to cats. If a cat has been exposed, or develops drooling, twitching, wobbling or a seizure, contact an emergency vet immediately.

How we chose these products
We first removed products without a clearly identified cat formulation, then checked the exact Amazon UK title, ASIN and pack format. The remaining options were compared on label fit, active ingredient, minimum age and weight, application format and the practical need to control fleas in the environment. A relative cost tier is editorial only; it is not a live price.
Match the active ingredient and strength to the cat
The VMD records show why the two Advantage packs cannot be swapped: 40 mg is for cats under 4 kg, while 80 mg is for cats at least 4 kg. Likewise, ordinary FRONTLINE Spot On is fipronil alone, whereas FRONTLINE Plus and Bob Martin Clear Plus contain a second insect-growth-regulator ingredient. Read the name and strength on the box before opening a pipette.
Weigh first and respect the minimum age
A kitchen or baby scale can help if used safely, but the product label is the authority. The options here generally require a cat to be at least 8 weeks old and 1 kg, while Advantage uses a 4 kg strength split. Do not estimate a kitten's weight or use a leftover dog dose.

How to apply flea treatment safely
- Weigh the cat and read the exact leaflet. Check the product name, active ingredient, strength, minimum age, minimum weight and re-treatment interval. If anything on the box differs from this guide, follow the current pack and ask a vet or pharmacist before using it.
- Treat only a suitable, healthy cat. Do not use a dog product on a cat, and do not use a cat medicine on another species unless its label says so. Ask your vet before treating a kitten, pregnant or nursing queen, an ill or recovering cat, or a cat with a previous reaction.
- Apply to visible skin, not fur or food. Part the hair at the label's application site and empty the stated dose directly onto undamaged skin. Never split a pipette, pour it into food or apply extra because fleas are still visible.
